RIGHT Care Team — Responding to Mental Health 911 Calls in Innovative Partnership
In 2018, the City of Dallas, Parkland Hospital, and Meadows Mental Health & Policy Institute launched a pilot program called the RIGHT Care Team. The Rapid Integrated Group Healthcare Team (RIGHT) pairs a Dallas Police officer, a Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedic, and Parkland Hospital psychiatric social worker in a single-vehicle response to 911 mental health calls. This session will discuss the complexity of organizing such a program, outcome data, and why the City and County are supportive of expansion.
