Marci McCoy-Roth joined True North Group as partner in 2013. During her tenure with True North Group, Marci has directed national projects for the American Public Human Services Association, Child Trends and ICF International. Her primary areas of expertise include child welfare policy, system improvement and data interoperability, and developing and implementing effective communication campaigns in the early childhood, climate change actions, adolescent health and child welfare policy arenas.
Marci was the Senior Director of Policy and Communications at Child Trends where she directed communications, research and policy projects on issues ranging from early childhood to adolescent health. Prior to that she served as a program officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts where she directed the communication and research activities for a major federal initiative to reform foster care.
Marci received a Master of Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication, at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Affairs and Policy Analysis from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was awarded the Robert M. La Follette Service Award. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University.
As an avid student of communication theory and practice, Marci excels at creating outcome-based communication strategies for nonprofits, foundations and government agencies alike. Based in the Washington, DC metro area, Marci was recently selected to serve on the Montgomery County Climate Action Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Workgroup. Marci is a longtime board member and current chair of FosterClub, a national network of youth who have experienced foster care. She also chairs the Montgomery County Citizen Review Panel on Children.
