Felicia is Medical Social Worker and Mental Health Therapist for Health Brigade. Felicia’s passion for health, wellness, self-love, empowerment, sexual health, and mental health began as a teenager. Felicia has over eight years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She received her Bachelors from Virginia Commonwealth University in Community Health Education. A few years later, she earned her Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Felicia’s love for community began as early as high school. Felicia recognized how her community was disproportionately affected by health disparities and mental illness. Felicia’s goal was always to gain the knowledge needed and spread it through all communities she worked or lived.
Her passion is working with women, and girls who have experienced trauma in their lives. Felicia has worked with countless women, and young girls through her continued work within the community. She made a particular focus to work with women and girls due to her experiences as a young girl. Felicia observed at a young age that many women make a priority to care for others while neglecting their health. She realizes how vital it is for women and girls to feel empowered, loved, and supported. Although Felicia’s passion and research are related to women and girls, she understands the importance of health and wellness for all individuals. She has over nine years providing community outreach, group experience, programs, and health education to individuals in the community.
Felicia specialties include Childhood/Adult trauma, Women issues, Self-empowerment, Sexual health, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic health illness, Pain Management, HIV/AIDS, and Grief. Felicia also specializes in group therapy such as pain management, HIV/AIDS, Grief, and Self-empowerment.
When Felicia is not working for Health Brigade, she spends most of her time providing programs and services to young girls and women of color through her organization, Speak GlamHer.
