Dr. Aprill Harmon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor who is currently employed at VA North Texas as a Social Work Supervisor in the VA Supported Housing Program (HUD VASH) and as an Adjunct Instructor at Columbia College. She is a trainer, social entrepreneur, speaker, author, and advocate with over 16 years of experience in the field of social work. She has been employed at VA North Texas since August 2010. Throughout her career, she has mentored and coached multiple aspiring social workers and leaders to achieve their academic and career goals.

Her academic background includes a Bachelors & Masters Degree in Social Work, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University School of Business and Leadership.

She is a Certified Life Coach, Certified Financial Social Worker, and Certified Trauma of Money Facilitator. Likewise, Dr. Harmon is a graduate of the VA National Social Work Leadership Training Program, Leadership Development Institute, and LEAD and also a recipient of the Employee Incentive Scholarship Program.

In addition, she is the chair of the Social Work Professional Development Coalition at VA North Texas Healthcare System, member of the Mental Health High Risk Workgroup, and recently appointed to the National Social Work Tiger Team on Human Trafficking where she co-leads the Training and Education Subcommittee.

Dr. Harmon has served on several other committees during her tenure at VA North Texas and has also served several years as a preceptor for graduate social work students. Her passion is empowering others to reach their goals and become effective change agents.
